By 1956 AEI Lamp and Lighting Co was a part of AEI

1957 AEI started to introduce product-based businesses: AEI Lamp and Lighting Co, as well as Birlec and Hill Top Foundry Co., were associated with the BTH business[1]

1961 New company to be formed to take over the glass manufacture and sales activities of GEC at Lemington and Wembley and AEI Lamp and Lighting Co at Chesterfield, other than Glass Bulbs Ltd[2]

1964 Merged with the lighting interests of Thorn Electrical Industries to form a new joint company, British Lighting Industries, one of the largest lighting groups in Europe.[3]

The reconstituted board of directors was as follows: Mr A. Deutsch, chairman, Mr. J. G. Christopher, Mr J. Clement, Mr S. R. Eade, Mr S. Hale.[4]
