A. Piat

From Graces Guide

French inventor of an oscillating furnace, a machine riveter and other devices.

1894 'Following American practice, Messrs. A. Piat and Sons, of Paris, have recently substituted pinions of compressed rawhide for mortise wheels with good results. The pinions work noiselessly with cast-iron wheels, are very strong, and wear little. They are unaffected by oil, but should be protected from water.'[1]
