Became connected with the Motor Industry as an Associate Chartered Accountant, after serving on the County Treasurer's Staff, Cheshire County Council. Took up present position in 1945. YOUNG, Arthur Primrose, M.I.E.E., F.I.W.M. Director, B. K. L. Alloys Ltd. and author of books on Automobile Electrical Equipment. Born 2nd July, 1885. Educated at Stanley School, St. Pancras and Finsbury Technical College, London. Joined staff of B.T.H. Co. Ltd., 1901, remaining continuously with that firm until retirement in 1945, except for break, 1906-8, when worked in U.S.A. with General Electric Co. Between 1909 and 1931 took out, in association with the Company nearly i5o patents. Visited U.S.A. in 1939 and 1945 at invitation of Episcopal Church to attend conference at Washington to survey impact of Christian principles on industrial relations. Locomotive Plant, Doncaster. Became connected with Motor Industry in 1931 as a department Manager, and took up present position in 1942. Is Treasurer, Sheffield University, and member of the Board of Governors, United Sheffield Hospitals. Married; 2 sons, 3 daughters.

YOUNG, John, D.SC., F.R.I.C., A.R.T.C. Technical Manager, The India Tyre and Rubber Co. Ltd., Inchinnan, Renfrewshire. Born Perth, Scotland, 13th June, 1896. Educated at Perth Academy, Royal Technical College, Glasgow, and London University. In 1910 became Chemist on sugar and rubber plantation in British Guiana; 1912, Research Chemist, Diamond Rubber Co., Akron, Ohio; 1916, Chief Chemist Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co., Akron,Ohio. 1920, Sales Manager for Rubber Chemicals, National Aniline and Chemical Co., New York. 1931, took up present position. YOUNG, Sydney John, B.SC., M.I.MECH.E. Head of Department of Automobile Engineering, Loughborough College. Born London, 4th February, 1887. Educated at King's School, Warwick; Birmingham University. Joined Daimler Co., Coventry in 1909, and in 1911 became Assistant to Chief Engineer, Wolseley Motors. In 1921 joined staff of Bradford Technical College as lecturer in automobile engineering. Appointed to present position, 1925.

YOUNG, William, M.I.MECH.E. Proprietor, Young Windows Ltd., Wishaw, Lanark Born Carluke, 14th May, 1891. Educated at Carluke Higher Grade, Glasgow High School; West of Scotland Technical College. Became an apprentice with Belhaven Engineering Works, Wishaw and afterwards draughtsman with J. & E. Hall, Dartford; with Wolseley Motors, Birmingham; Karrier Motors, Huddersfield. Became Chief Engineer (Motor Department) Browett Lindleys, Manchester. Served in 1914 war as Captain, R.A.F. On demobilisation became chief engineer and designer to Karrier Motors Ltd., leaving them in 1922 to start own business at Claydon Works. Recreation: Golf.
