THE AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF GREAT BRITAIN. [1]

On Wednesday evening, the 27th April, there was a very large gathering of members and visitors, including many ladies, to witness the lantern display of cinematograph views taken during the Easter tour of the club.

The views showed the progress of the cars on tour along the top of the Hog's Back (near Guildford) and at Fareham (Hants).

After the display, a discussion was held on the arrangements and route for the Whitsuntide tour.

The result of the discussion was that the following tour was decided upon:

Friday, MAY 27th.— London to Cambridge (62.75 miles). 10.30 a.m., start from the club for Hertford (29i.75 miles) via Horse Guards' Avenue, Whitehall, Cockspur Street, Waterloo Place, Regent Street, Portland Place, left side of Park Crescent, Outer Circle of Regent's Park, leave Park by gate opposite Baptist College, Avenue Road, Finchley Road (190), Childhill, Finchley, and by G.N. Road to Barnet, thence via Potter's Bar to Hatfield, and via Cole Green to Hertford for luncheon, and then on via Ware, Royston, and Foxton, to Cambridge.

SATURDAY, MAY 28th.- Cambridge to Norwich (68.5 miles). Via Newmarket, Kentford, and Saxham to Bury St. Edmunds for lunch, and then via Ingham and Barnham to Thetford and Attleborough, and Wymondham to Norwich, where the party will stay at the Royal Hotel, Norwich.

WHIT-SUNDAY MAY 29th.— An optional circular tour to the "Land of the Broads" will be made, viz., Cromer, North Walsham, Wroxham, and back to Norwich (62 miles).

WHIT-MONDAY, MAY 30th.- Two alternative routes have been arranged, viz. (a), Norwich to Ipswich (42.75 miles), going by Long Stratton, Scole, Thwaite, and Claydon, and (b) Norwich to Ipswich (64.75 miles), via Brooke, Bungay, Halesworth, Yoxford, to (465) Saxmundham (luncheon at the Bell Hotel), Wickham Market, and Woodbridge to Ipswich, when the club dinner will be at the Great White Horse Hotel.

TUESDAY, MAY 31st.- Ipswich to Chelmsford (40 miles). Leaving Ipswich at 10 a.m. via Washbrook and Stratford St. Mary to Colchester, when the party will lunch at the Cups Hotel, and then proceed via Witham to Chelmsford.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1st.- Chelmsford to London (35.5 miles). Mr. R. E. Crompton (a member) has kindly invited members to inspect his firm's works at Chelmsford on this morning, and a start for home will be made at 2 p.m., travelling via High Ongar, Epping, Wake Arms, Waltham Cross, Enfield, Whetstone, up the Barnet Road, and Finchley Road by the same route as at the start, finishing up with supper at the club.

It was also decided to drive on motor vehicles for a club dinner at the Castle Hotel, Windsor, on Saturday, 14th May. The start from the club will take place at 3 o'clock, dinner will be at 6 o'clock, and the start home about 8 p.m.
