1887 Newcastle Engineering and Mining Exhibition

From Graces Guide

See 1887 Newcastle Exhibition.

" The Royal Jubilee Mining, Engineering and Industrial Exhibition at Newcastle, which was opened in May last by his Royal Highness the Duke of Cambridge, closed on Saturday. The total number of admissions, exclusive of attendants, exhibitors, and holders of complimentary tickets, was 2,092,273. It is understood that the Exhibition has been a financial success, but stall holders complain that their losses have been considerable, and tradespeople in the city also allege that they have similarly suffered."
