Brown's Fumigator

91. BROWN, DAVID STEPHENS, 2 Alexandrian Lodge, Old Kent Road — Improver.

Patent instrument for fumigating plants, to destroy insects, etc. Tobacco is placed in the magazine at top, and lighted, in the same manner as an ordinary smoking pipe. A draught of air is produced for its combustion by the revolutions of a fan, which draws the smoke in at one part of the cylinder, and drives it forcibly out at another, in a cool state, concentrated, and in any direction. In fumigating turnips, orchards, etc., other moistened substances may be substituted for tobacco.
