  • Edmund Potter and Co of Dinting Vale, Manchester, were one of the largest calico printers in Europe.
  • Edmund Potter was the grandfather of the children's author Beatrix Potter. His fabrics were often used as binding. Special “de-luxe” copies were bound in lovely calico featuring pansies in shades of periwinkle and purple with yellow and green accents. [2]
  • 1947 British Industries Fair Advert as Manufacturers of Printed and Dyed Rayon and Cotton Dress goods, Lingerie, Overalls and Shirtings including "Potter's " Anti-Shrink range. Also Specialists in cloths for Children's wear. (Textiles Section - Earls Court, Ground Floor, Stand No. 156) [3]
