1814 Thomas was born in Huntindonshire[1]
1836 Thomas married Elizabeth Gardner; they had 5 children.
1843 Mr T Docwra was contractor for an artesian well at the Royal Hospital, Haslar, which would supply water to Southampton; surprise was expressed that pure water could be obtained through 125 feet of salt-water laden shingle[2]
1854 Mr Docwra was contractor for laying water pipes from the Rivington Waterworks in Liverpool[3]
1863 Mr T. Docwra tendered for works connected with the reservoir at Barking[4]
1867 Contractor for the Buitron and Huelva Railway in Spain[5]
1867 "The eminent hydraulic contractors", Messrs Docwra sank a well for the Stratford Brewery[6]
1868 The partnership of Grissell and Docwra, of Hoxton and Leipzig, was dissolved; contractors for obtaining and supplying water for public use in places outside the UK[7]
1868 Tendered for work on building the Embankment in London[8]
1874 Contract to construct waterworks at Potsdam[9]
1878 Drilled a deep exploration well for the New River Co using a novel drill from the Diamond Drill Co[10]
1882 Thomas died at Swanage[11]
1888 T. Docwra and Son were contractors for the Hornsey National Hall[12]
1895 Mentioned as user of Hunter, Fraser and Goodman's patented sand washing apparatus[13]
1908 Contractor to the Metropolitan Water Board for pumping at the Selshurt Well[14]
