1935 The Hebburn dry-dock of Palmers Shipbuilding and Iron Co was taken over by Vickers-Armstrongs and continued to trade as Palmers (Hebburn).

WWII Engaged in a variety of naval construction including (by end of 1944) constructing 17 new vessels and pontoons, etc, repairing and refitting 342 vessels, as well as fabricating steelwork for construction and prefabricating steelwork for ships[1]
