1883 In liquidation. '...Proceedings for Liquidation by Arrangement or Composition with Creditors, instituted by Joseph Hodgson and Robert Soulsby, both of Blyth, in the county of Northumberland, formerly carrying on business in copartnership there as Wood Shipbuilders and Wood Ship Repairers, under the firm of Hodgson and Soulsby, but now carrying on business in copartnership under the said firm of Hodgson and Soulsby, at Blyth aforesaid, as Iron Shipbuilders, and Iron Ship Repairers, the said Joseph Hodgson residing at Grove House, Gosforth, in the county of Northumberland aforesaid, and formerly carrying on business on his own account at Blyth aforesaid, as a Ship Owner and Merchant, and in partnership with other persons under the firm of Hodgson and Eccles, at Blyth aforesaid, as Ship Owners, and now carrying on business on his own account at Blyth aforesaid, as Lloyd's Agent, and acting there as Vice-Consul for Norway and Sweden, the said Robert Soulsby resides at Blyth aforesaid, and formerly carried on business there on his own account as a Ship Owner....'[3]
