Sir Edward Sharp Baronet headed the firm, Edward Sharp and Sons. He was a sturdy non-conformist, actively associated with the Week St. Congregational Church. He married Lady Clara Betts, circa 1878, in Maidstone, Kent. Died: 23 August 1931, Warden Court, Maidstone.
1877 Established by Edward Sharp, originally grocers, afterwards Manufacturing Confectioner
Introduced Kreemy Toffee and other lines with such success that their business was greatly increased.
1911 The Sharps brand was first launched.
Erected new factory 3 times larger than their old one.
1922 British Industries Fair Advert for Sharp's Super-Kreem Toffee from "The Largest Manufacturers of Toffee in the World". Also Royal Nougat. (Stand No B.8) [1]

1961 Robertson and Woodcock, makers of Trebor, acquired Edward Sharp and Sons
1968 Name changed to Trebor Sharps
1985 Part of the Trebor Group
1989 Trebor acquired by Cadbury Schweppes
