1878 Established by the brothers, Samuel Connolly and Joseph Connolly, sons of a successful tyresmith and wheelwright, who set up in business as shoesmiths and saddlers. The family-owned business concentrated on tanning hides and supplying, principally, the motor industry with leather for car seats.
The company built a business that would eventually supply the most prestigious automotive manufacturers, the most luxurious liners, the ritziest hotels, and even the famed Concorde with a quality of leather that has never been surpassed.
