The last Magnox power station to be built in the UK

Wylfa was the last operational Magnox station in the world. Latterly the site had only one running reactor and two operational turbine generators, but with an output of around 460MW could supply more than 20 per cent of Wales' electricity needs. Generation ceased on 30th December 2015.

Wylfa is responsible for the 30MW Maentwrog hydroelectric station near Blaenau Ffestiniog.
