Colonel Willoughby Verner Constable (1853-1943)

1853 September 27th. Born in Westmeath, in County Leinster, Ireland, the son of Joshua Constable, a Clerk of Works, and his wife Sarah

1861 Living in Plumstead, Kent.[1]

1871 Listed as a Gentleman Cadet in the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich[2]

By 1876 he was in India

Later went to the Sudan and Egypt

1889 Married Lucy Gordon

By 1892 he was back in India with the North Western Railway of India

1901 Living at The Rectory, Cosgrove, Northants., with his wife Lucy and her mother Arabella Hewit Gordon[3]

1902 Twelve articles in The Engineer on the working of American railways

1904 Retired from the Indian service

1943 November 28th. Died
