'We regret to record the death of Mr. William Yorath Lewis, M.I.Mech.E., A.I.M.E.E., A.M.I.C.E., which occurred on July 7, at the age of 87. Mr. Lewis was interested in the problem of continuous transit in large cities, and invented the "never-stop" railway system, which was installed at the Empire Exhibition, Wembley, in 1924.'
