1915 Obituary [1]

WILLIAM THACKRAY died on March 8, 1915, at Sunderland at the age of seventy. He was managing director of Samuel Tyzack & Co., Ltd., of Sunderland. He held a prominent position among the ironmasters of the north-east district; he was Chairman of the North of England Iron and Steel Conciliation Board, and a member of the River Wear Commission.

He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1885.
