WILLIAM PRINGLE BROWN Was born in Edinburgh on the 6th January 1886, and was educated at the Royal High School, Heriot-Watt College, and the University of Edinburgh.

He served his apprenticeship with the Carron Co. of Falkirk, and is 1910 was appointed to a post on their London staff, during which time he travelled abroad on behalf of the Company.

On demobilization from H.M. Forces he was appointed Foundry Commercial Manager at the Carron Works, which position he held till his death on the 11th December 1921, in his thirty-sixth year.

He was elected an Associate Member of this Institution in 1913.
