William Nevill
William Nevill, 1st Marquess of Abergavenny KG MVO (September 16, 1826 – December 12, 1915) was an English peer.
Lord Abergavenny was born in 1826, the son of William Nevill, 4th Earl of Abergavenny and was educated at Eton College.
On May 2, 1848, he married Caroline Johnstone, granddaughter of Edward Harcourt, the then Archbishop of York and they had ten children.
Lord Abergavenny gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1849 in the service of the 2nd Life Guards and was later honorary Colonel of the West Kent Yeomanry and Sussex Yeomanry.
He was created 1st Marquess of Abergavenny and 1st Earl of Lewes on 14 January 1876, invested as a Knight of the Garter in 1886.
Lord Abergavenny died in 1915 at Eridge Castle, Sussex and was buried there.
