William Llewellin

From Graces Guide

1839 William Llewellin of Abercarne House, near Newport, became a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.[1]

1849 Married. 'Wm. Llewellyn, Esq., of Abercarne House, Monmouthshire, to Margaret, second daughter of the late Joseph Coffin, Esq., of Merthyr Tydfil.'[2]

1839 Joined ICE. William Llewellin, Abercarn House.

1854 William Llewellin, Abercarn House, land agent.[3]

1864 April 13th. Died. 'Mr. Llewellin has for the last thirty years been intimately associated with the mining interests of the South Wales and Monmouthshire mineral districts, and his ample store of general and scientific knowledge, combined with his enlarged experience, rendered him among, if not the most eminent, of his profession as a mining engineer, and his loss will be much felt by a large class of mineral proprietors throughout the country. His death occurred on Wednesday last at Malvern, whither he had gone about three weeks since in the hope of receiving benefit from that neighbourhood. His health for many months has been much shattered, and he never seems to have recovered the shock he sustained by the loss of his wife about two years ago, and to whom he was deeply attached.'[4]
