1891 Opened its first bakery
1904 William Jackson and Son was set up as a private limited company to take over the Business run by William Jackson and his son.
1931 Acquired Francis Myers Ltd, retailer
1952 Company incorporated
1958 Death of Colonel J. A. Oughtred, managing director. P. B. Oughtred was appointed managing director
1960 Opened the company's first supermarket
1963 Converted into a public company. The company operated 6 bakeries and several factories in Yorkshire, County Durham and Lincolnshire as well as 92 shops[1]
1968 Developed a process for commercially producing Yorkshire puddings
1974 Butlin's leisure company asked the bakery to create a Yorkshire pudding for its holiday camps which led to the development of the Aunt Bessie's brand.
1981 Incorporated as a public limited company
2004 The Jacksons Stores chain, which by that time comprised 114 convenience stores across the north of England, was sold to Sainsbury's
2012 Acquired Abel and Cole
2016 Acquired The Food Doctor
2018 The Humberside-based 167-year old family run business sold Aunt Bessie's, maker of frozen potatoes and Yorkshire puddings, to Nomad Foods[2]
