"WILLIAM HENRY BEAN was associated with the firm of Messrs. Newton, Bean and Mitchell, Bradford, steam-engine builders and general engineers, during the whole of his professional career, including his apprenticeship, which he commenced in 1906. He was educated at Bradford Technical College and on the completion of his practical training in 1909, took over the duties of works manager at the early age of twenty-four. He was admitted to partnership in 1910.

Mr. Bean, whose death in his sixty-seventh year occurred on 3rd October 1951, was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1911."
