West Yorkshire Railway
1857 The Bradford, Wakefield and Leeds Railway opened to provide a direct link from Wakefield to Leeds.
1863 The line was renamed the West Yorkshire Railway
1865 The line opened for goods traffic
1869 The line opened for passengers
The company was absorbed by the Great Northern Railway in 1865
