Established by William Yalden junior, uncle of Richard Nevill.

1839 Richard Nevill became a partner in the Wern Ironworks

Nevill expanded the foundry into a large concern, known locally as Nevill's foundry, specializing in the manufacture of heavy machinery, works and marine engines, boilers, and other products.

After incorporation in a limited liability company, Mr F. R. and Mr W. Y. Nevill were put in charge of the business.
