WALTER AMBROSE PEARSON died at New York on the 25th January, 1914, at the age of 44.
After receiving a four years' training he entered the service, in 1890, of the West End Street Railway Company of Boston (Mass.) as Superintendent of Construction. He filled this post for three years, and then took charge of the power station of the Brooklyn Heights Railroad Company.
In 1896 he was appointed Electrical Engineer to the Metropolitan Street Railway Company of New York - a post which he held for 10 years, until he became Chief Engineer to the Electrical Development Company which was engaged in constructional work at the Niagara Falls of transmission lines and transformer stations.
Four years afterwards he became Assistant General Manager to the Rio de Janeiro Tramways, Light, and Power Company, but had to return to the United States in 1912 owing to ill-health.
He was elected a Member of the Institution in 1909.
