W. B. Heginbotham, MSc(Tech), PhD, FlProdE, FRSA, Member is a graduate of the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology where he lectures in production engineering subjects. He was a practising production engineer for 12 years, but is now Head of the Department of Production Engineering and Production Management at the University of Nottingham and Cripps Professor of Production Engineering. He is the author of various publications on metal cutting and industrial mechanisation with particular emphasis on mechanical assembly and industrial robotics. He was recently appointed editor-in-chief of the first international journal devoted exclusively to robot devices.
