Trawsfynydd Nuclear Power Station

Located on a 15.4 hectare site, on an inland lake in Snowdonia National Park, North Wales.

1965 The first inland civil Magnox nuclear station; it started service in 1965, drawing its cooling water from Llyn Trawsfynydd.

Turbine generators made by Richardsons, Westgarth and Co (Brown, Boveri licence).

1991 Had generated 69 TWh of electricity when the station closed in 1991.

One of two Magnox sites selected for accelerated entry to Care & Maintenance.
