c1844 Born in S Knapdale, Argyll, son of Allan Wilson, a farmer, and his wife Margaret[1]

Apprenticed with Denny and Co, Dumbarton (5 years)

1861 Lodging in Dumbarton, an Engine Smith[2]

After completing his apprenticeship he was employed by Dennys for about 2 years as a draughtsman

Seagoing engineer with Jardine Matheson of Hong Kong for about 4.5 years

Draughtsman with J. and G. Thomson of Glasgow for 2 years

Outdoor manager for Amos and Smith of Hull for 6 years

Also Lloyd's Surveyor at North Shields for 2 years

1881 Thomas Wilson 37, Lloyd's Engineer Surveyor, lived in the house of Allan Wilson 41, medical practitioner, in Easington, with his sister Mary Wilson 34[3]

1884 Became a Member I Mech E. He was Manager (engine department), Wallsend Slipway Co[4]

Became Superintendent, General Steam Navigation Company's Works, Deptford, London, S.E.

1890 Died in Deptford; his probate was to be handled by his widow, Kate[5]
