From Graces Guide

of Wicker, Sheffield

1850s Thomas Moulson was Master Cutler

Note

There were two edged-tool manufacturers named Thomas Moulson in Sheffield in the 1850s, one associated with Moulson Brothers and the other “of Wicker”. White’s Directory 1852 shows both:

  • Moulson Brothers, edgetool, joiners' tool. brace and bit, skate, saw, &c. manufacturers, and merchants, Division street
  • Moulson, Thomas, edgetool manufactr. (M. Brothers); house: 51 Division street
  • Moulson, Thomas, saw and tableknife manufacturer, 53 Wicker

The first Thomas above was elected Master Cutler in 1854 and died in 1862

The other Thomas, “of Wicker”, was not Master Cutler; he became insolvent in 1854 and died in 1864
