Thomas Blair Sommers (1890-1933)

Thomas Blair Sommers was born in 1890, and received technical education at Allen Glen's School and the Royal Technical College, Glasgow.
He served an apprenticeship for five years with the North British Locomotive Co, and then joined the staff of Halley Motors, with whom he served for many years as draughtsman, and subsequently as head of the Design and Experimental Department.
During the last few years he was partner in a motor agency in Glasgow.
He died on the 6th June, 1933, at the age of 43.
He was elected a Member of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1920.
