Mr T. C. Thomsen (Member), who died last year at the age of 81, was educated in Denmark and spent most of his working life engaged on research in the oil industry. Mr Thomsen is remembered by the senior members of this Institution as a man who played a major part in the Danish resistance in the 1939-45 war. Joining the Institution as an Associate Member in 1913, he became a Member in 1919.
