1878 Partnership change. '...the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Edward Simpson, Harry Simpson Gee, Richard Fawcett, Joseph Griffin Ward, George Edward Gee, and John Lipson Ward, carrying on business together in copartnership as Tanners, Curriers, Leather Factors, and Boot and Shoe Manufacturers and Merchants, at Leeds, Leicester, Daventry, and elsewhere, under the style or firm of Stead, Simpson, and Nephews, has been dissolved so far as regards the said Edward Simpson and George Edward Gee. All debts due to and owing by the said firm will be received and paid by the said Harry Simpson Gee, Richard Fawcett, Joseph Griffin Ward, and John Lipson Ward, by whom the said business will in future be carried on....'[1]
