1915 Simms Motor Units establised a subsidiary, the Standard Insulator Co.

1926 Moved into half of the Simms factory at East Finchley[1]

1928 Simms Motor Units acquired the 75 percent of the company that it didn't already own[2]. Standard Insulator made vulcanite components for the Simms magnetos; also sold enamelled wire, wireless components and other electrical items to which it had sole rights in the UK.
