South London Gas Co

From Graces Guide

The first gasworks on the south bank of the River Thames in London were erected by a Scot named Munro, in 1814.

They were sold a few years later to the South London Gas Co which, when in difficulties in 1824, parted with them, to an influential body of men who banded themselves together under the title of the Phoenix Gaslight and Coke Co.
