c1871 Born in Birmingham the son of John Lewis, Photographic Apparatus Maker.

With his wife Mary Ann Lewis (age 39 born Warwickshire) and their three sons; Arnold C. Lewis (age 11 born Lincoln); Sydney W. Lewis (age 10 born Birmingham); and Frederick Lewis (age 9 born Birmingham). One servant.[1]
