Shepherd and Webb

From Graces Guide

Shepherd and Webb, glass makers of the White House Glass works, Stourbridge

1833 John Webb, a farmer, entered the glass industry in partnership with John Shepherd at the White House Glass Works, which was adjacent to the Wordsley Flint Glass Works, his son Thomas Webb's premises. John Shepherd had earlier worked for Rufford and Walker at the Heath Glass Works.

1835 John Webb died and Thomas succeeded to his father's share in the Shepherd and Webb business.

1836 Thomas bought out John Shepherd.

1840 Thomas Webb did not own the glass works and in 1840 moved to the Platts House and Glass works at Amblecote, very near to the Dennis estate, and started Thomas Webb’s glassworks.
