The Severn Waterway starts at the top end of the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal at Gloucester Docks and meets the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal at Stourport in the north, 42 miles with 5 locks. The Worcester and Birmingham Canal joined the Severn Waterway at Worcester; the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal Co joined the river at Gloucester; the Droitwich Barge Canal joined at Hawford.
