Scunthorpe Rod Mill

1949 Company incorporated by GKN and Templeborough Rolling Mills to operate the wire rod mill transferred from GKN's Cardiff site to Scunthorpe[1].

1953 Templeborough Rolling Mills's holding in Scunthorpe Rod Mill Ltd was sold to the Iron and Steel Corporation of Great Britain[2].

1955 Private sale of John Lysaght's Scunthorpe Works Ltd by the Holding and Realisation Agency[3] to GKN[4] including the wholly-owned subsidiary Scunthorpe Rod Mill Ltd.

1968 Scunthorpe Rod Mill Ltd was renamed GKN Distributors Ltd, which was formed to amalgamate the distribution interests of GKN and to acquire Davis and Timmins Ltd, W. Galloway and Co Ltd, GKN (Northern Ireland) Ltd and John Lysaght (Services) Ltd, Macnays Ltd, Nettlefold and Moser Ltd and other companies controlled by GKN involved in distribution.

1976 Name changed to Macnays Ltd

1983 Name changed to Sankey Laminations Ltd, another subsidiary of GKN
