Rudolph Bodmer (c1816-1888)

c1816 Born in Baden, Germany, the son of Kaspar Bodmer and his wife Lisette Ludi

1854 Patent. '1542. And to Rudolph Bodmer, of 2, Thavies inn, Holborn, in the city of London, for the invention of the application of glass, crystal, or other vitreous material or of earthenware (ceramique) to certain parts of machinery."'[1]

1861 Living at 10 Clarendon Terrace, Kensington: Rudolph Bodmer (age 45 born Duchy of Baden, Germany), Engineer. With his wife Hellen S. Bodmer (age 31 born Bolton) and their children George R. Bodmer (age 7 born Kensington); Hella Bodmer (age 6 born Kensington); and Julia Bodmer (age 3 born Kensington). Two servants.[2]

And Rudolph Bodmer, of Hosborn House, Holland Park, in the county of Middlesex, John James Bodmer, of Newport, in the county of Monmouth, and Louis Rudolph Bodmer, of No. 2, Lansdown-road, Notting-hill, in the county of Middlesex, have given the like notice in respect of the invention of "improvements in fire grates applicable to steam boiler furnaces and other furnaces."'[4]
