1825 Advert: 'TO BE SOLD BY AUCTION, By JOHN MALLETT, Without reserve, on Monday the 12th day of September, 1825, near the Church Yard, Chipping Norton, the following capital BUILDING REQUISITES ; comprising an excellent cast iron double power crab crane (made by Lumley and Co. London,) one large rope, 260 feet long, nearly new, made of the very best materials, .... they were used in rebuiling the tower of the church of Chipping Norton, and were purchased at a very heavy expence; are in excellent preservation, and worthy the attention of persons requiring them. ...'[1].
