1882 Public Benefit Boot Co, Westgate, Bradford.[1]

1897 The company was registered on 5 May, to take over the business of boot manufacturers of a private company of the same name, as well as other businesses. [2]

1908 Lennards was registered November 21, 1896, to acquire the business of leather merchants, boot manufacturers, &c., carried on by Messrs. Lennard Brothers, which was trading in 1908 as the Public Benefit Boot Company.

1947 50th AGM. T. W. Badgery is Chairman. 'The Public Benefit Boot Co. Ltd. was incorporated on May 5, 1897, and traded under that name until its alteration to Benefit Footwear Limited, last year. When the company was formed, the original founders were amongst the pioneers of multiple , trade in footwear.'[3]
