(Bridge of Mermaids) in Milan, Italy

A cast iron arch bridge built in 1842 to cross the canal at the Strada di San Damiano. Moved in 1930 to the Parco Sempione.

The mermaid statues were cast in the ironworks of Dongo on Lake Como by the company Rubini, Scalini, Falk & Co.

During removal to Parco Sempione the cast iron railing were damaged and were repaired with steel tubes. After the restoration in 2001-2003 the railings were reconstructed following the original design.[1]
