1910 Edgar Frankignoul, with business partner Armand Baar, established the "Société des Pieux Armés Frankignoul" (Frankignoul Reinforced Piles Company) to exploit the patent applied for by Frankignoul in July 1909 for the driven cast-in-situ concrete piles with an enlarged base: the Franki pile.
