1851 Census: Age 26, occupation patternmaker, living in Latchford with his mother, Ann (boot and shoe maker), brother George (shoemaker and shopman), sister Mary, one assistant, and two apprentices.

1854 Marriage Certificate: Age 30, millwright. Father, Peter, a bootmaker. Address: Hargreaves(?). Married Harriet Booth, 25, b. Warrington.

1861 Census: Age 27, occupation shoemaker and tobacconist, wife Harriet. Living at 6 Regent Road, Salford.

1871 Census: Age 46, Living at Leigh Street, Warrington, with his mother, Ann, boot and shoe maker.

1881 Census: Age 60(?), married, living in Latchford with his mother, Ann, 80, widow, retired bootmaker.
