Perard Engineering

From Graces Guide

Perard Engineering, manufacturer of cable handling and chainless haulage equipment, and equipment of longwall mining.

1980 Charter Consolidated purchased Perard Investment Holdings to expand its interests in mining equipment.

1981 Perard Torque Tension Ltd was formed by merger between Torque Tension Ltd and Perard Engineering Ltd.

The market for chainless haulage declined as the makers of shearers produced these machines ready-fitted with chainless haulage. Perard began developing new products for use with the longwall system of coal mining, much of it based on Peratrack. Also developed system for advancing the loader and blast hole drilling machines, all aimed at mechanising and simplifying tunnelling into the rock-face, advancing the face conveyor to the end of the tunnel, and bringing forward the switchgear and controls.

1987 In liquidation [1]
