1937 British Industries Fair Advert for electrically welded Gasholders and Purifiers. Makers and erectors of Gas, Chemical and Tar Distillation Plant. Specialists in Electrically Welded Gasholders, Purifiers (incorporating our patent Reverse and Devided Flow Valves), Stills, High Pressure Vessels, Tanks, etc. Also Gasholder repairs by electric welding. (Gas: Industrial and Domestic Section - Stand No. Ca.915).

1940s Advert.

1960 De Vere Holdings acquired the company

1961 Gas, chemical and constructional engineers. 300 employees.

1962 Planned to expand Thomas Dryden and Sons Ltd of Preston, a subsidiary of Oxley Engineering.

1963 De Vere Holdings acquired Robert Dempster and Sons which became Oxley-Dempster.

1963 De Vere Holdings, having disposed of its namesake hotel, changed its name to Oxley Industries, reflecting the name of one of its principal subsidiaries[1]

1966 Oxley Industries floated a minority of shares in Oxley Engineering[2]

1969 Acquired Butterley Engineering from Hanson Trust. Ceased to be a subsidiary of Oxley Industries[3]

1970 Acquired by Kent Castings, supported by Slater Walker. The company's most important subsidiary was said to be Oxley-Dempster, which was involved in making process plant[4]
