Nuclear Electric

From Graces Guide

Nuclear Electric was a nuclear power generation company in the United Kingdom, formed in 1990 as part of the privatisation process of the UK Electricity Supply Industry.

Before 1990, the electricity generation and transmission activities in England and Wales were the responsibility of Central Electricity Generating Board

When the CEGB was split up, its non-nuclear power stations were divided between PowerGen and National Power.

In 1996, Nuclear Electric's AGR and PWR Stations were moved into a new company, British Energy. The Magnox stations from Nuclear Electric and Scottish Nuclear were transferred to Magnox Electric.

2009/10 Nuclear Electric was purchased by EDF Energy.
