Newtown and Machynlleth Railway

From Graces Guide

This 22.75 mile line ran through a 120 ft cutting on Taleddig and then down to the Dyfi estuary and Machynlleth.

The line opened in 1863

1864 The 4 lines between Whitchurch and Machynlleth were merged to form Cambrian Railways - this brought together the Oswestry and Newtown Railway, the Oswestry, Ellesmere and Whitchurch Railway, the Llanidloes and Newtown Railway and the Newtown and Machynlleth Railway.
