1899 The Newman and Dale Steamship Company Limited was registered with a capital of £250,000, to purchase the steamships Aeon, Acme, and Apex, to build and equip three other steamships, to adopt an agreement with A. R. Newman and S. J. Dale, and to carry on the business of shipowners.[1]

1906 The company went into voluntary liquidation.[2]
