1887 in Evercreech, Somerset.

1913. September 20. Stocks, who has flown enthusiastically since gaining her pilot's license in 1911, is a passenger on this occasion, as Sydney Pickles takes her on a flight in a new model - a Champel biplane. Pickles crashes the plane and sustains a broken leg, Stocks is unconscious for several days, and has back injuries. She is forced to give up flying, due to a paralyzed right side.
