From the 1920s, they redesigned their upright pianos by means of a "double" or "extra" iron frame at the back; the new models were good pianos.
Grand pianos were also modified with the extra frame; they, too, improved dramatically in quality.
1930s Introduced one of the few traditional 6-octave uprights, again with the extra iron frame.
